Home of the original fairground con-man! Ever been caught playing fast and loose? Never managed to find the lady? Are you a 'marked' man? These phrases and many more have become part of our everyday language, but they have their origins in the world of tricksters and con-men.
Fast and loose referred to a fairground con where unsuspecting passers-by were challenged to bet on which side of the chain would remain 'Fast or Loose'. Our latter-day con-man will demonstrate all of the traditional fairground 'scams' and show how easy it is to be fleeced at seemingly innocent games of chance... (or is it not chance?).
Everyone thinks they could 'Find the Lady' or lift the shell and find the pea. Care to bet on it Gov’nor?

This is without doubt one of our more unusual theme nights! Depending upon the number of guests attending, we will provide a variety of different 'sitters', skilled in the reading of Astrology, Palmistry, Tarot Cards and Crystals, to name but a few. Guests would then be invited to visit the various readers and get a brief insight into their own personality; these are not 'doom and gloom' predictions but a fascinating look at how a medium can reveal hidden personality traits that may not be obvious even to you! Add to this a magician to perform sleight of hand and a little mind reading demonstration, and you certainly have an evening of entertainment that will be remembered for a very long time. We would all admit to being intrigued by stories of predictions and revelations from friends who have experienced a visit to a medium, but if we are really honest, the person we like to hear about most is ourselves.
